Dear Non-Profit Organizations,
Mt. Carmel Health, Wellness and Community Center is taking a new approach to making the annual Mt. Carmel Festival into one of the largest non-profit fundraising events of the year, that would benefit ALL of the area non-profits. This event would encompass not only Trinidad but also all of Las Animas County and could become a much-anticipated yearly tradition.
Raising funds for non-profits is a challenge in any area, but is especially true in Southeastern Colorado. We can meet this challenge through an event that would gain support for the area non-profits, educate and raise awareness of the programs they offer, and provide the ability to interact with people on a one-on-one basis. How valuable is that?
After hosting the Mt. Carmel Festival for the past three years, we decided to explore and try returning to the original purpose of what a parish community did in raising money. This would take restructuring the festival to retain a similar purpose. The new vision would bring back community by giving non-profit organizations the ability to raise money to support the services THEY provide.
Our plan would be to keep the feel of an old parish festival with games, food, music, arts and craft vendors, which will be fun for families and people young and old.
Mt. Carmel Health, Wellness and Community Center will provide advertising, space, food, beverages, music, a small selection of alcohol beverages, and the booths for games. We plan to construct all booths, games and provide a booklet that will give you the rules and how to run the game. Your part in this, you are asking? For a small rental fee you will choose a game, man the booth, set your own ticket price for the game and supply token prizes. All the proceeds you collect will go to YOUR non-profit organization.
Doing this would allow us to have a solid format that will enhance this community as a whole, and become an annual event. What is exciting about this concept? We all come together for our community. It is a steppingstone to help raise awareness of the services provided by non-profit organizations in the community.
