Emily's Garden

Emily’s Garden

Named in honor of Emily Cimino who loved and worked with flowers all her life, Emily’s Garden is an intimate arrangement of meandering pathways set with seasonal plants and an outline of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Important features of the Garden include Emily’s Memorial Wall, a tribute to a woman loved by all. The Garden also serves as a tribute or memorial to the loved ones of Mt. Carmel’s supporters in the inscribed bricks and plaques that line the walkways and paths of the Garden. Bistro tables enhance with al fresco dining available in mild weather.

Who was Emily Roitz Cimino?

Matriarch and beloved wife, mother and grandmother had a lifelong passion for cooking, flowers and all living and growing things in the garden. Although well educated, Emily chose the role of wife and mother when she married Jay Cimino.  However, with her children grown, Emily put her culinary skills and love of flowers to use in running her own business.  For 25 years Emily’ Decorative Plants supplied the local businesses and citizenry with plant leases, office plants and silk and fresh floral arrangements for celebrations.  She supplied all the Christmas trees and poinsettia plants to the various Phil Long Dealerships. Emily’s meals and holiday repasts were legendary so it is only fitting that this lovely garden and catering service be named for Emily.
